We are on a mission

CAP’s mission is to ensure that all pediatric cancer patients, regardless their income, can enjoy access to the best quality care in Puerto Rico while staying near their homes and family.

We provide state-of-the art medical equipment for specialized pediatric oncology diagnostics and treatment. At the same time, we continuously improve the Oncology Unit facilities, making sure they can receive the quality care and attention they deserve in a comfortable ambiance.

We also offer valuable programs and support services that contribute to the children’s treatment and recovery, including their emotional wellbeing.

All funds raised by CAP remain in Puerto Rico and are used to purchase medical equipment, pay for improvements to facilities, and provide support services to the children and their families.

Your donations to CAP are the lifeblood of the University Pediatric Hospital’s Oncology Unit.

University Pediatric Hospital

The Dr. Antonio Ortiz University Pediatric Hospital is the only supra-tertiary children’s hospital in Puerto Rico, caring for children with severe health problems or in critical conditions. In addition, it is the teaching hospital of the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, where our future physicians are trained. Three out of four patients treated at this public pediatric hospital have the Government Health Plan.

Children’s Oncology Group

Since 2015, the University Pediatric Hospital’s Oncology Unit is an active member of the Children’s Oncology Group. This is the largest world organization dedicated exclusively to cancer research for children and youth ages 0-21.

Our Team

At CAP, we work with an enterprising, creative, and highly committed team of people who are tireless in their work on behalf of children with cancer. They ensure every dollar donated is invested efficiently.
