Become a CaptainCAP IMAGING CENTER
In 2019 CAP made history with the inauguration of the first imaging center ever at a public pediatric hospital in Puerto Rico, considered the best in the Caribbean and one of the most advanced in the Western Hemisphere.
All children being treated at the University Pediatric Hospital in Centro Médico, can undergo an MRI study or a CT Scan in this modern facility which uses cutting-edge technology with radiation levels calibrated specifically for children.
The CAP Imaging Center is named after Dr. Concepción Quiñones de Longo in recognition of her 17 years as medical director of the University Pediatric Hospital.
The facility, which is nearly 9,000 square meters, is built on the premises of the former emergency room and features the most advanced diagnostic equipment, including:
- •Magnetic Resonance (MRI)
- •Computerized Tomography (CT)
- •Digital Radiology
- •Fluoroscopy
- •X-Rays
- •Sonogram
- •Ultrasound
- •Pediatric Gastrointestinal Endoscopy
Having this state-of-the-art center allows children to have a more pleasant experience when receiving radiology and imaging services, with the added convenience that they no longer have to leave the hospital for their required tests.
This multi-million-dollar project was made possible through a partnership between the CAP Foundation and the Puerto Rico Health Department. Thanks to generous donations from the private sector, schools, and thousands of Puerto Ricans who have entrusted us with their money, as of 2021, we have contributed nearly $4 million to make the CAP Imaging Center a reality.
